From the Coast of Greece to the Mountains of Jasper
Alex and Helen Balomenos left their coastal city of Arta in Northwestern Greece looking for new opportunities. They arrived in Canada in 1971, determined to work hard and make a living in this new country. They established themselves in the restaurant industry and, in 1996, they were able to purchase Something Else Steakhouse. Backed with great experiences from both Canada and Greece, and armed with authentic Greek recipes brought from home, Alex and Helen were ready to bring their traditions to the Canadian industry. Now, over 20 years later, Something Else is known for its warm and friendly Greek hospitality and delicious food.
